I'm very happy that I tried this place out. The beer is actually really great and so is the food. They serve small plates so you can try different bites as you taste different drafts. It does get loud when it's raining because of the tin roof, but that just adds to the charm. It reminded me of Colorado. This is a good brewery in town off to a good start. Their trivia nights are fun, and you can get good food at Stokehold inside the brewery for a bite. I enjoyed the outdoor courtyard area as well. My tag line for this place is #dropanchorandddink. We love the way that Port Orleans has created a space that is so inviting but minimalist.

The front porch is covered and right on Tchoupitoulas St. The day we went (opening weekend) the place was absolutely a buzz with people and bands and fun! The menu features everything from a hoppy IPA (which they openly publish as a work in progress ) a Lager, a brown ale (slack water ale - my personal favorite) and a few others. While it is a new establishment, I'm hoping for more from the beer side of the house. The Lager is supposed to be their flagship brew, but it seems to be missing something.

It is unremarkable - and maybe that is exactly what they are aiming for so as to have more appeal? The bar food is very nice. We adored the pretzels - they were small pillows of a pretzel that had a great texture that seemed to be a cross between a beignet and a pretzel (note - in texture only - not taste. The taste is all pretzel) finished with a cheese sauce foam and a hint of excellent salt. Really hit the mark on this one!

We will be back. This place should be around a long time and it is a welcome addition to the crowded brewhouse scene. Such a cool brewery! Much outdoor space, dogs welcome, does it get any better then that? The cars driving down Tchoup are kind of annoying, you just hear that weird echoing noise that happens when you drive down it constantly when you're sitting on the outdoor porch section but there are many other lovely, different sounding areas to sit in. The food and beer pairings are a cool idea! Music was also on point. Nice patio and lots of good beers. Pretty much a hit. Me and two buddies tried POB last night.

We hung out for about 3 hours having dinner and enjoying the porch. The brewery and restaurant seem to be distinct and separate entities that are under the same roof. It's fast casual, so you always go to the bar to get drinks and order food at a separate counter, which is basically connect to the bar. I guess it's a red tape issue with being a brewery. If you want water, there is a cooler in the back.

It's definitely convenient, but also lame. We ordered a round of beers and asked for waters too. The bartender directed us to the cooler. Save me a trip, and pour me a water. It's seat yourself, or at least last night was.

We walked in and asked a guy at a counter for a three top. He informed us, he was the host for trivia night. Honest mistake but funny to us. The food was very decent for a brewery. Not typical pub grub. They had waygu beef tacos, pretzel rolls, summer sausage and bone marrow.

Everything seems to be waygu beef these days. Best thing on the menu IMHO was the fish and chips.

Batter was crisp and well seasoned. The food was a solid 3/5. Service was a solid 3/5. I'd give the ambiance and porch a 4/5. Really liked the porch area.

Overall, the place was nice. I think there is room for improvement particularly with the service. As they build steam and polish up their staff, I think they could be little friendlier and more efficient.

Overall, they're are better places to get drinks. But there is something nice about that patio. This place has been on my list of places to visit ever since it opened . I had seen pictures of the food and became an immediate fan. Ventured in here on a Saturday night about an hour and a half before they closed.

Crowd was ok, not too packed. They have cute outdoor seating as well. I'm not a huge fan of beer(unless it's a girly beer) , but my boyfriend is and I had heard they had excellent food so we decided to give it a try. The girl who worked there was so nice and helped me find a girly beer as I'd like to call it. She let me try it and everything! So sweet. Ended up splitting the patty melt and getting the tea pale ale. OMG best decision ever.

I already know what I want to try next time I go! We will be back! With it's comfy patio, tasty treats and light beers, I can already tell that Port Orleans is going to be a summer hot spot.
